Ginger Cat Books is a community built around a shared love of reading.

Based in the heart of Casco Viejo, we bring together Panamanians and people from around the world through books, conversation, and a welcoming space where everyone belongs.

We created Ginger Cat because English-language books can be difficult to find and expensive to buy in Panama. Our subscription library and carefully curated second-hand bookshop make great literature more accessible, giving readers the freedom to discover, borrow, and share books without the expense of building their own collection.

Ginger Cat isn't driven by profit—it's driven by the belief that books create connections, spark conversations, and enrich the places we live. Whether you come to borrow a novel, find your next favourite author, or simply meet fellow readers, you're part of what makes Ginger Cat special.

Become a member. For a small monthly fee, you'll enjoy unlimited borrowing, with up to two books on loan at any one time. It's an affordable way to explore new authors, revisit old favourites, and discover books you might never have picked up otherwise.

Prefer to own your books? We also offer a carefully curated selection of pre-loved titles, from recent releases to timeless classics and well-loved favourites.
